NaH2PO2·H2O

Structural formula

Product description

Physical and chemical properties:

Sodium hypophosphite is a colorless powder or crystal, which is colorless and odorless, with a salty taste. It has strong hygroscopicity, is easily soluble in water, glycerin and alcohol, and insoluble in ether. The pH value of its aqueous solution ranges from 6 to 8.

Applications:

Sodium hypophosphite is mainly used as a reducing agent in electroless plating. For large equipment and small objects that cannot be electroplated, or those with complex shapes with concave and convex patterns requiring high precision, or inner walls of deep holes, or those requiring high surface hardness and wear resistance, or for the metallization of surfaces of non-metallic materials such as plastics, ceramics, glass and quartz, it can obtain dense and uniform nickel-phosphorus coatings that are better than electroplated ones. It is widely used in electronics, aviation, machinery, petroleum and other industries.       Sodium hypophosphite can also be used as an interface activator, molecular weight regulator, heat stabilizer for synthetic resins and food additives.

Transportation conditions: It is strictly prohibited to mix and transport with oxidants, acids, edible chemicals, etc. During transportation, exposure to sunlight, rain, and high temperatures should be prevented. The vehicle should be cleaned after transportation. For road transportation, it shall follow the specified route. Air transportation: Sodium hypophosphite can be handled under ordinary cargo conditions.

Storage conditions: It should be stored in a cool and dry place. Attention should be paid to protecting it from sunlight, moisture and package damage. It is recommended to stack it on shelves or single-layer pallets.

Shelf life:Under the above storage and transportation conditions, the shelf life is 12 months.
