Physical and chemical properties:
The specification YMA1 of magnesium oxide is a high-purity, white and odorless light powder. It is extremely slightly soluble in water but easily soluble in dilute acids, undergoing a neutralization reaction, which forms the basis for its use as an antacid. This substance is alkaline and hygroscopic, readily absorbing moisture and carbon dioxide from the air, so it needs to be stored in a sealed and dry condition. Magnesium oxide YMA1 has an extremely high melting point (approximately 2852°C) and relatively stable chemical properties, but it will deteriorate slowly upon long-term exposure. The light-weight product has a large specific surface area, which affects its dissolution and reaction rates. Attention should be paid to its hygroscopic properties and alkalinity during use.
Applications:
Magnesium oxide specification YMA1 is used as a food additive, color stabilizer, pH regulator, and as a magnesium supplement in health products and foods. It is used as a decolorizing agent in sugar refining and a pH regulator in ice cream powder, etc. It is used as an anti-caking agent and antacid in fields such as wheat flour, milk powder, chocolate, cocoa powder, grape powder, and powdered sugar.
