Physical and chemical properties:
Stannous sulfate is a white or pale yellow crystalline powder, soluble in water and dilute sulfuric acid. Its aqueous solution decomposes rapidly, and it starts to decompose into basic salts at temperatures above 360℃. Stannous sulfate oxidizes slowly in the air, turning slightly yellow.
Applications:
The main uses of stannous sulfate are in tin plating or as a chemical reagent, such as in acid plating of alloys, tinplate, cylinder pistons, steel wires, etc., and bright tin plating of electronic devices. In addition, it is used in the oxidation coloring of coatings for aluminum alloy products, as a mordant in the printing and dyeing industry, and as a hydrogen peroxide remover in organic solutions, etc.
