Physical and chemical properties：
Stannous chloride is a colorless or white columnar crystal belonging to the monoclinic system, with a density of 3.95 g/cm³. It is soluble in water, alcohol and glacial acetic acid, and its solubility increases in concentrated hydrochloric acid; it decomposes when exposed to water. Stannous chloride dissolves at temperatures above 37.7℃ and decomposes into hydrochloric acid and basic salts at its melting point. It is gradually oxidized to insoluble oxychloride in the air. The neutral aqueous solution of stannous chloride is prone to decomposition and precipitation. The acidic stannous chloride solution has strong reducibility, which can reduce chromium oxide (hexavalent) to Cr³⁺, Cu²⁺ to Cu⁺, Hg²⁺ to Hg⁺ and Hg, Ag⁺ to Ag, and Fe³⁺ to Fe²⁺. Stannous chloride can reduce nitro compounds to amines. It reacts with alkalis to form water and oxide precipitates, but when the amount of alkali is excessive, soluble stannites are formed.
Applications：
Stannous chloride is used as a chemical reagent, a raw material for organotin synthesis, a sensitizer for electroplating plastics, a stabilizer for spices, a food additive, a printing and dyeing auxiliary, a pesticide intermediate, a catalyst for organic synthesis, etc.

Transportation conditions: It is strictly prohibited to mix and transport with oxidants, acids, edible chemicals, etc. During transportation, exposure to sunlight, rain, and high temperatures should be prevented. The vehicle should be cleaned after transportation. For road transportation, it shall follow the specified route. Air transportation:Stannous chloride can be handled under ordinary cargo conditions.
Storage conditions: It should be stored in a cool and dry place. Attention should be paid to protecting it from sunlight, moisture and package damage. It is recommended to stack it on shelves or single-layer pallets.
Shelf life: Under the above storage and transportation conditions, the shelf life is 12 months.
