Properties:
EDTMPA is a white crystalline powder at room temperature with a melting point of 215-217℃. It is slightly soluble in water, with a solubility of less than 5% at room temperature, but easily soluble in ammonia water. EDTMPA has a strong ability to chelate metal ions, and its complexation constant with copper ions is the largest among all chelating agents including EDTA.
Applications:
EDTMPA is a high-purity reagent and non-toxic. In the electronics industry, it can be used as a cleaning agent for semiconductor chips in the manufacture of integrated circuits. In the pharmaceutical industry, it serves as a carrier for radioactive elements, applied in the examination and treatment of diseases. The chelating ability of EDTMPA is far stronger than that of EDTA and DTPA, and it can replace EDTA in almost all places where EDTA is used as a chelating agent.
