Physical and chemical properties:
Copper pyrophosphate is a pale green powder. It is soluble in acids but insoluble in water, and can form complex double salts with potassium pyrophosphate or sodium pyrophosphate.
Applications:
Copper pyrophosphate is widely used in the electroplating industry for pyrophosphate copper plating, copper-tin alloy plating, etc. It is suitable for the copper underlayer of decorative protective layers and the local anti-carburizing coating of parts requiring carburizing. The main components of the pyrophosphate copper plating solution are copper pyrophosphate and potassium pyrophosphate. Copper pyrophosphate provides copper ions, and potassium pyrophosphate acts as a complexing agent to form the complex salt potassium copper pyrophosphate. In addition to forming a complex salt with copper, there is also a part of free potassium pyrophosphate in potassium pyrophosphate, which can stabilize the complex salt and improve the throwing power and covering power of the plating solution. When copper is plated on the copper pyrophosphate underlayer, the coating has a uniform color, regular, fine and dense crystal structure, and the plating solution is more stable and easy to maintain.
